Dreaming about the 30 Million Lottery Prize

Posted by baadster on December 22, 2007

Yes the thought of winning 30 million dominated recent conversation with the annual holiday dinner group.

There was the usual seven suspects at the dinner all of us working or semi-working with great ideas of how to spend the 30 million.

Everyone wanted to start with a huge holiday trip - weeks in Hawaii - around the world - cruising - safaris - the whole deal.

Then the big house and big car.

Everything after that involves work - planning - investing - managing

My huge file of scribbled ideas and inventions would be opened with intent - which is much different than todays - “some day when”

My numbers for this Fridays draw will be a little different.

The last two weeks have been single digits, teens and 40’s with 2 repeats.

I will play mostly 20’s and 30’s with one repeat number from last week.

None of my methods have any supporting science - so wish me luck  !!

These are the last 20 numbers drawn

My Try to Win the 30 Million Lottery Prize

Posted by baadster on December 16, 2007

OK - so now my ability to pick 6/49 and super 7 lottery numbers is zero.  My only consolation is that we all know that there is no magic formula to illuminate which numbers to choose.

This week the grand prize for the super seven lottery is over 30 million Canadian dollars. The odds of my winning the grand prize are about 1 in 450 billion.

Here is what happened in the last two lotteries.

Last week: also 2 repeats, 2, 3, 4, 8, 12, 16 draws back
Two weeks ago  there was 2 repeats, 2, 5, 7, 2 from 8, and 11 weeks back.

I will try a more spread out pattern of picks:

wish me luck !!

Time to Pick new numbers for the 6/49 lottery

Posted by baadster on December 7, 2007

On my last set of numbers I picked:
1 repeat, 2, 3, 8, 15 and 25 draws back,

What actually happened:
2 repeats, 9 back, 2 from 11 draws back, 14 and 23 draws back.

I did not even get a single number !!!

On this set of numbers I am picking:
1 repeat, 3 back, 2 from 9 back, 19 and 26 back

Remember there is no science to this.

Wish me luck

How I pick my 6/49 lottery numbers

Posted by baadster on December 2, 2007

There are many methods to pick your lottery numbers.

When you understand that each draw has no relationship with previous draws and when you understand that just because a number has not been drawn for awhile does not mean that it will suddenly show up and when you understand that hot numbers are just coincidence then you may be ready to pick your lottery numbers without any false logic or false plans.

My plan is to choose six numbers - each with a premise that is completely unsupported by any science.

Number 1 is a repeat from the previous weeks drawn number
in this case one from Nov 28: 7, 13, 27, 37, 40, 46, Bonus 11

Number 2 is a repeat from the previous two weeks drawn number
in this case one from Nov 24: 1, 10, 25, 27, 30, 36, Bonus 41

Number 3 is a repeat from the previous three weeks drawn number
in this case one from Nov 21: 2, 10, 13, 15, 28, 41, Bonus 38

Number 4 is a number that has not shown up for 8 draws

Number 5 is a number that has not shown up for 18 draws

Number 6 is a number that has not shown up for 25 draws

History of recent 6/49 draws
Regular Numbers drawn - Bonus
7, 13, 27, 37, 40, 46, 11 Nov 28
1, 10, 25, 27, 30, 36, 41 Nov 24
2, 10, 13, 15, 28, 41, 38 Nov 21
14, 17, 27, 41, 47, 48, 24 Nov 17
3, 15, 24, 25, 40, 44, 39 Nov 14
3, 13, 14, 17, 20, 42, 40 Nov 10
4, 12, 24, 25, 37, 49, 33 Nov 7 2007
8, 23, 33, 40, 46, 49, 37 Nov 3 2007
2, 8, 23, 25, 33, 48, 43
12, 13, 17, 34, 40, 47, 9
8, 9, 31, 42, 45, 49, 19
7, 8, 13, 26, 32, 35, 41
12, 24, 33, 36, 39, 45, 28
1, 26, 30, 32, 39, 47, 21
9, 37, 39, 45, 47, 48, 4
5, 15, 30, 35, 41, 48, 6
3, 17, 18, 24, 31, 32, 42 Oct 3 2007
9, 19, 26, 29, 39, 45, 33
21, 25, 32, 35, 40, 47, 6
5, 8, 12, 15, 39, 47, 40

I will invest in a ticket. Yes this is for fun. I will be paying tax. I will have only one chance in 10 billion of having the right combination. so I go into this gambling situation with my eyes open and with a complete understanding that my picking methods cannot be supported by any science whatsoever.

Wish me luck !!

The Odds of Winning a Lottery

Posted by baadster on December 2, 2007

Today’s topic is understanding the odds of winning a lottery.

Lets take the average 6/49 lottery that operates in several USA states and Canada Provinces as an average lottery for our example. To win the lottery grand prize “you” as the contestant have to select all six numbers drawn in the weekly or monthly contest.

To understand how to calculate your chances of winning the lottery one simply has to evaluate the process of calculating the pool of potential numbers that you as a contestant have available to select.

To pick the first number you have a one in 49 chance of selecting a correct number.

To select the second number you have one less in the pool of potential numbers available for your selection. To choose the second number you have a one in (49 times 48)= 2352 chance of getting them correct.

To select the third number you have one less in the pool of potential numbers available for your selection. To pick the third number you have a one in (49 x 48 x 47) = 110,544 chance of getting them correctly.

To select the fourth number you have one less in the pool of potential numbers available for your selection. To pick the fourth number you have a one in (49 x 48 x 47 x 46) = 5,085,024 chance of getting them correct.

To select the fifth number you have one less in the pool of potential numbers available for your selection. To pick the fifth number you have a one in (49 x 48 x 47 x 46 x 45) = 228,826,080 chance of getting them correct.

To pick the sixth and final number you have a one in (49×48x47×46x45×44) = 10,068,347,520 chance of getting them correct.

So far I have not won any lottery and I do not know anyone who has won a lottery. Practical advice and mathematics suggest that one chance in 10 billion is very close to no chance in 10 billion.

Welcome to My Lottery Picks

Posted by baadster on December 2, 2007

You can divide the entire population by their attitude towards the lottery. There are those that love the lottery and dream about the chance to be free. There are those that play but value it as a lost investment. There are those that believe they have no chance to win and never play. There are some that say the lottery is an addictive tax on the poor and oppressed and should be stopped.
