96 Million Reasons to Play the Lottery this Week

Crazy time for lottery players this week – live the dream for a few days.

Just imagine what you can do with all that money –  Dreams of 50 Million and 35 Million grand prizes overwhelm any thoughts of odds and stats – forget the 1 chance in 63 million.

OLG is doing the usual – showing idiots as winners – the automatic impression is ‘ If that idiot can win – then I should be able to”.  Bottom feeding at its worst.

If the Liberals want to improve the casino image – it is simple – use the ad time to promote good uses of the money – planting tree projects – garbage pick up days – donating computers to schools and libraries – show intelligent winners who are using some of the money to make Canada and Ontario a better place to live.

My first guesses for last weeks Lotto Max sucks lottery were all wrong  – as usual.  None  of the first set of cold numbers were drawn – yes that is 0 of 7.

My second set of cold numbers 7,18, 24, 26, 27, 33, 35 included 4 and the bonus – so my $10 dollar ticket won $20 bucks. For once it was better that the stock market.

How I pick my lottery numbers

For the Jan 16, 2015 lotto max sucks lottery  – I will pick a blend of hot, cold and warm numbers (1 or 2 hot, 3 cold and the rest warm)

cold = 1,4,5,11,21,23,24,27,32,36,37,41,44,

hot= 3,14,31,43,48

warm = everything else

September 30, 2014 – What lottery this Week

Last week I was interested in the Ontario 49 draw.  This is my set of lottery picks: I will play the Sept 27 – Ont 49 this week– bet $1 to try and win 2 million – will pick 1# from 1 to 10, 1# from the 20’s, 3# from the 30’s and 1 # from the 40’s.

This is what happened:  27-Sep-2014 03 12 16 17 20 26 BONUS 10

If extremely lucky my selections would have resulted in 2 numbers out of 6 – worth nothing – so much for Ontario 49.

This week it will cost 5 bucks for 3 chances at 22 Million with Lotto Max sucks and 3 bucks for one chance to win 13 million with the regular 6/49

Ontario is 1 buck for 2 Million

When you read the any prize stats they all claim a 1 to 6.6 ratio.

I will try the Ontario 49 one more time – I will use the same pick selection from last week – this is my 1 dollar a week entertainment expense.

Good luck everyone.

Sept 22, 2014 what to play this week?

Some one won the Lottario – grand prize is down to 250,000  — I bet 1 hot, 2 cold and 3 warm – the draw was 3 warm and 3 cold numbers – I lost my dollar.

No one won the Lotto Max Sucks – not even the 6 of 7 numbers – prize is 15 million – not sure if I like lotto max this week.

No one won the 6/49 or the 5 of 6 numbers – prize is 7 million for Wed – will look at the numbers to see if I like it.

Sept 24 Update – I made a mistake – on the lottario there are 2 plays for $1 – there are 2 seperate draws – one for the grand prize and an early bird draw.  So it is one chance for $250,000 and one chance for $50,000.

I am looking at the Ontario 49 lottery – it is also a pick six numbers out of 49 – with a 1 chance in 13.9 million chance to win the grand prize – with all the lesser prizes it averages 1 in 6.3 to win something.

The last 7 sets of Ontario 49 winning numbers

10-Sep-2014  Wed  01 07 09 43 45 46  Bonus  31
06-Sep-2014  Sat  10 23 26 41 42 44  Bonus  30
03-Sep-2014  Wed  09 26 33 39 40 48  Bonus  25
30-Aug-2014  Sat  01 12 23 26 43 47  Bonus  38

I will play the Ont 49 this week – bet $1 to try and win 2 million – will pick 1# from 1 to 10, 1# from the 20’s, 3# from the 30’s and 1 # from the 40’s.

Good luck everyone

Looking at the Daily Keno and Lottario

It is Sept 18, 2014 I am looking at options

I can pay 5 bucks for 3 chances at 10 million with lotto Max sucks with a 1 in 63 million stats chance.  my cost/risk price = .265

I can pay 3 bucks for the new 6/49 which includes 1 chance at 5 million and 1 chance at 1 million at a 1 to 13 stats chance.  my cost/risk price = 1.153

I can pay 1 buck for 2 chances in the lottario 6/45 which has a 880,000 jackpot this week at a 1 chance in 4 million stats chance. my cost/risk price = 0.11

The 6/49 is 10 times more expensive than the lottario this week if you create values for the prizes and stats.

When I add the 1 buck daily keno 10 pick – the top prize is 250,000 and odds are a 1 in 2,147,181 stats chance. my cost/risk price = 0.116 – almost the same as lottario

So do I spend my entertainment dollars on lottario with a top prize of 880,000 or go with daily keno at 250,000  ???

100 Million Available March 14 Lottery Draw

Yes it is that time again – the lure of the 100 million jackpot overcomes rational thought.

Previous winning lottery numbers

07-Mar-2014 – 01 06 07 16 22 31 33 bonus 25

28-Feb-2014 – 04 07 20 22 26 28 29 bonus 47

21-Feb-2014 – 01  10 16 23 29 35  39 bonus 46

14-Feb-2014 – 06 08 11 16 17  19  24 bonus 29

07-Feb-2014 – 13 19  37  38 40  43 48 bonus 46

31-Jan-2014 – 06 10 16 27 38 40 45 bonus 39

24-Jan-2014 – 07 10 15  23 30 36 44 bonus 45

My best guess is: two numbers in the 40’s, two numbers in the 30’s, two numbers in the 20’s, the first number in the low teens.

My second best guess is three numbers in the teens, one in the 20’s, one in the 30’s and two in the 40’s.

Find 4 friends with a loonie – pool your 5 bucks or 10 bucks and wish for good luck.

2013 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,700 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 5 trips to carry that many people.
